In Jamaica on Feburary 6,1945, Robert Nesta Marley was born and was really poor. Cedella Booker which was his mother was 18 years old when he was born and his father Norval Marley which was in his 50s, he was white and was a captain in the british west indian regiments. His father was never there of course but his mom was. Norval died when Bob was 10 years old. Bob Marley and his mother moved to Kingston Jamaica in the late 1950s. They lived in Trench Town, which was the poorest slum.
As a young age Bob developed a love for singing in church choirs.Marley learned to play the guitar and sing, in order to escape his
surroundings. He recorded his first single, “Judge Not,” in 1962. However, his solo songs received little attention. A year later, he formed the group ‘The Wailing Wailers’ with his childhood friends, and their first single, “Simmer
Down,” hit the top of the Jamaican charts in 1964
